We created this video that features our project’s group members’ articulations of the problem with ‘Born This Way’ discourse interspersed with examples of the ‘Born This Way’ narrative in popular culture: interviews with queer celebrities, “coming-out” scenes in movies and television shows, etc. This video serves to show and criticize the ways the narrative has seeped into popular culture and how its consumption is strategic in building tolerance for the LGBTQ community even though for an anatomically driven narrative it is based on 'false science'.
