This part of the final project draws directly from "Medical Gayz" by Suzanna Walters. In her text she details a few experiments carried  out in the 20th century that have been used as the foundation for the 'Born This Way' ideal. These published studies tried to prove that homosexuality is biologically determined by connecting homosexuality and gender identity to biological origins, focusing on brain and finger size, various hormones and endocrine systems and maternal womb environment. These studies often had non-representative participants and too small of sample sizes to make general conclusive statements about anatomy and sexuality. The conclusions of these studies have circulated in mainstream media and many activist have rallied behind their statements but the experiments from which they came are faulty in their methodology.
